Coating a Walk-In Shower Screen

A walk-in screen may have distinct wet and relatively dry areas. Mapping that exposure helps focus cleaning and establish realistic expectations for the finished glass.

Inspect both sides and the base

Identify the glass type and any factory treatment. Note the direct spray area, lower edge and nearby surfaces that may receive preparation runoff. Check fittings and seals for issues that need the enclosure installer before coating work proceeds.

Decide the application scope

Agree whether one or both faces will be treated and confirm product suitability for each. Keep surrounding flooring, stone and metal outside the scope unless separately approved. Schedule the work so the glass can remain protected for the required interval before the shower is used.

Match care to exposure

Use the approved cleaner and suitable drying tools where permitted. Inspect the lower wet zone more frequently if residue develops there, while still checking the whole dry screen periodically. Do not assume an untreated face has the same care requirements as a coated one. Keep the application record with the bathroom’s maintenance information.
