Should Both Sides of Shower Glass Be Coated?

The inside and outside of a shower panel may have different exposure and existing treatments. Decide the scope from those conditions instead of assuming both faces always need the same process.

Inspect each face separately

Identify factory coatings, films or decorative finishes and determine which face carries them. Record water exposure, hand contact and current cleaning needs on each side. A coating approved for untreated glass may not suit a film or specialist surface on the opposite face.

Agree the useful scope

Discuss what the owner wants to improve and which applications are confirmed suitable. Include the faces and panels in the written proposal. If only one side is treated, make that clear at handover so future users do not assume identical behaviour on both sides.

Maintain the recorded system

Use cleaning methods appropriate to each face and protect neighbouring materials. For any later enquiry, state which side is affected and provide a wider photograph showing its location. A clear treated-face record helps explain differences that might otherwise be mistaken for uneven application or premature wear.
