Natural stone near a shower can change which preparation and cleaning methods are appropriate.
Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge
Natural stone near a shower can change which preparation and cleaning methods are appropriate. The glass and the surrounding stone need to be considered together before any product is applied.
Ask for the stone supplier’s care instructions and note existing sealers or treatments. Record its location beneath or beside the glass, where runoff or splashes may reach it. Do not assume a cleaner safe for the glass is safe for the stone.
Use an approved protection method and keep application quantities manageable. Follow the cleaner’s directions for the target surface while preventing incompatible contact with adjacent materials. Inspect the boundary during work and address spills using the relevant product guidance.
Provide separate approved methods for glass and stone, with tools organised to avoid cross-contamination. A household member should not need to guess which cleaner belongs where. If a mark appears on the stone, seek stone-specific assessment rather than treating it as a problem with the glass coating. Keep photographs and the products used available.
