Why a Squeegee Leaves Lines on Shower Glass

Lines after squeegeeing may come from the tool, remaining residue or the surface itself. A small controlled check can help identify the cause without immediately changing the coating routine.

Inspect the contact edge

Check the blade for grit, nicks and hardened film. Clean it using its manufacturer’s method and inspect the frame for parts that could touch the glass. If the edge is damaged, replace the appropriate part rather than compensating with more pressure.

Clean a comparison area

Use the approved glass-cleaning routine on a small section, remove residue as directed and try the clean tool. Inspect the result dry. Compare whether the line follows the blade’s movement or remains fixed in the same place on the glass.

Keep the diagnosis specific

If the issue persists with a suitable clean tool on properly cleaned glass, record the pattern and ask the installer to assess it. Avoid polishing or applying another coating layer merely to remove a drying line. Include the cleaner and tool history so the advice addresses the actual sequence.
