Choosing a Squeegee for Coated Shower Glass

A suitable squeegee should remove water without bringing hard edges or trapped debris into contact with the glass. Confirm that squeegee use is permitted for the glazing and coating system.

Check the blade and frame

Choose a design that can be used comfortably within the enclosure without striking handles or frames. Inspect the contact edge for damage, roughness or hardened residue. An expensive tool is not useful if its working edge is dirty or damaged.

Use it without forcing

Work with controlled pressure and keep the frame away from the glass. If the blade skips or leaves a line, inspect and clean it rather than pressing harder. Avoid dragging particles across the surface. Treat any chipped or damaged glazing as an issue for the enclosure installer.

Keep the tool clean

Rinse or clean the blade according to its own care instructions and store it so residue does not accumulate along the edge. Replace worn parts when needed. A squeegee supports water removal; it should not be used to scrape stubborn deposits or substitute for the approved cleaning method.
