Product Photography Instructions for a Coating Range

Specify consistent bottle scale, label legibility and variant identity for a coherent product catalogue.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

Consistent product photography helps buyers distinguish coating variants without being distracted by differences in scale or presentation. The brief should preserve the real bottle and label while creating a coherent catalogue. It should not make materially different packs look identical.

Define a repeatable image standard

Specify the view, background, crop and relative bottle scale. Decide which image shows the whole pack and which provides label detail. Use consistent lighting where practical and preserve the actual product colour. Keep transparent backgrounds genuinely transparent when required by the website design.

Control variant identity

Maintain a shot list with product name, pack size, label revision and file reference. Check the physical sample before photographing it. For example, two bottles with similar silhouettes may belong to different products; naming files only by colour can create an avoidable catalogue error.

Review images in their real destination

Place the images in a representative product grid and product page before approving the set. Check label legibility, clipping and alignment at smaller screen sizes. Write useful alternative text describing the product rather than stuffing keywords into it. Retain an original master and an optimized delivery version. The result should help customers recognize the correct item and compare the range, while keeping photography, product data and packaging versions aligned.

A consistent bottle-photography shot list

Request a front label view, a scale-consistent range view, a kit-contents view and any detail needed to identify the product. Keep lighting, camera position and crop consistent across comparable bottles. Preserve true label proportions and do not digitally invent missing packaging information.

Record which pack size and packaging revision each image shows. A 30 mL bottle should not be used as an unlabeled stand-in for a 50 mL product. If an image is a render, identify it appropriately in the asset record and review it against approved artwork. This gives website and reseller teams usable material while reducing customer confusion about the item actually supplied.
