Handling Product Information Changes Across Coating Resellers

Distribute a precise change notice with affected products, source files and completion tracking.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

A product-information update is incomplete when the manufacturer changes its page but resellers continue using old files. A clear change notice helps partners identify exactly what needs attention. The message should distinguish factual corrections from optional design improvements.

Make the change actionable

List affected products, the previous information, the replacement and the effective revision. Link the approved assets. Explain whether the change affects customer instructions, product identity, images or commercial information. Avoid sending an entire folder without indicating what changed.

Identify partner touchpoints

Ask resellers to review product pages, downloadable documents, marketplace listings and staff references that use the affected information. For example, a new instruction file may require a link update even if the visible product description remains correct. Keep obsolete assets clearly marked to prevent accidental reuse.

Track completion proportionately

Assign a contact for questions and record acknowledgements for important updates. Check a sample of customer-facing pages to confirm the revision reached the actual destination. Do not interpret a message being delivered as proof that every listing was updated. Preserve the notice and approved source so later questions can be resolved. The process should make it easy for partners to maintain accurate information without requiring them to rediscover the meaning of the change from scattered conversations.

Track reseller updates to completion

List the affected facts, approved replacement wording, source revision and the reseller pages or documents using them. Assign an owner for notifying partners and a separate check that the live material was updated.

If an application limitation changes, a new brochure alone may not fix an old product-page claim or a downloadable leaflet. Prioritize changes by the decisions they affect. Ask partners to confirm the relevant update rather than merely acknowledging receipt of an email. Keep historical versions for support, clearly marked as superseded. The process is complete when customers encounter the current information at the places they actually use, not when the brand has finished sending the announcement.
