Assess the starting condition

Check clearance around each panel, lighting positions and the customer’s reason for keeping the car stationary. Do not assume a steering, brake or mechanical problem can be worked around as a cosmetic inconvenience.

A practical working method

  1. Mark inaccessible areas in the service scope.
  2. Arrange suitable lighting and clean tool paths without touching neighbouring objects.
  3. Perform a representative test in the actual working position.
  4. Refer the job to another location if safe access or reliable inspection cannot be achieved.

Common mistake

Reaching awkwardly across the car can change pad contact and increase the chance of tool or cable contact. A good result on one accessible door does not verify a cramped roof section.

What a useful result looks like

Accept only the areas that can be worked and inspected properly. Explain exclusions before correction begins, and plan coating access and curing separately if protection is included.
