Trace spotting after a water-filter change through the inlet, treatment stage, hose and nozzle before blaming the coating or shampoo.
Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

A filter change does not guarantee that the water reaching the vehicle has the intended quality. Installation, bypass settings, downstream hoses and the type of treatment all matter. Trace the delivery route before changing the coating-care process.
A particulate filter, softener and deionisation system perform different functions. Confirm the equipment’s purpose and monitoring instructions. Dissolved solids and hardness are related water characteristics, but they are not identical measurements.
| Location | Question |
|---|---|
| Incoming water | What enters the system? |
| Immediately after treatment | Is the treatment stage performing as specified? |
| After storage or hose | Does the downstream route change the result? |
| At the nozzle | What is delivered to the vehicle? |
Use suitable clean containers and record whether samples are first-draw or taken after the prescribed flushing procedure. Compare like conditions rather than a stagnant hose sample with a freshly flushed equipment outlet.
Confirm cartridge identity, installation direction where relevant, bypass position and the manufacturer’s commissioning procedure. Do not dismantle pressure equipment or modify plumbing beyond the appropriate operating competence.
Even when treatment performs correctly, water retained in vehicle gaps or contaminated towels can contribute to visible marks. Compare a controlled rinse and drying sequence before attributing every spot to the new filter.
For illustration, the treatment outlet may meet the intended reading while an old hose sample does not. That points to the delivery route for further checking. It does not establish the identity of every residue left on paint.
Record measured values, sampling conditions and a repeated accepted wash result. If the system remains outside its specification, involve the equipment supplier. Coating renewal is not a substitute for resolving a water-delivery problem that will affect the next wash as well.
