Refining Soft Clear Coat Before Ceramic Coating
Reduce finishing haze on sensitive clear coat by checking pad choice, residue removal, towel contact and inspection technique.

Some clear coats mark readily during polishing and even during residue removal. A finish that responds this way needs a controlled refining process. More polishing pressure or repeated wiping may worsen the appearance instead of improving it.
Find where the marks appear
Inspect after the polishing cycle and again after residue removal. If the finish changes during wiping, examine the towel, preparation product and technique before changing the polishing combination. Use a clean, suitable cloth and avoid dragging accumulated residue across the panel.
Keep the test area small enough to observe consistently. Check under directional light and broader ambient light, since each can reveal a different aspect of the finish.
Refine conservatively
Use an appropriate fine finishing combination and follow its working instructions. Change one variable at a time. A softer pad is not automatically the answer for every paint, polish and machine; the result of a controlled test should guide the choice.
Keep pads clean and replace them when their behaviour changes. Do not continue working dried residue simply to add more passes.
Protect the accepted result during preparation
Once the desired finish is achieved, reduce unnecessary handling. Plan the panel-preparation and coating sequence so towels, applicators and inspection tools are ready. Confirm that the preparation method is compatible with the paint and selected NANOLAB product.
Compare findings with residue masking and towel organisation. The final inspection must assess the surface after preparation, because that is the finish the coating will protect.
