Patterned upholstery can hide local changes that become visible from another angle. Test colour and texture before treating the full seat.

Assess the starting condition

Identify the textile and inspect it clean and dry. Photograph wear and stains. Check whether multiple fibres or decorative sections have distinct care requirements.

A practical working method

  1. Trial the approved product in a suitable hidden area.
  2. Inspect after its specified drying period.
  3. Compare pattern, colour and feel under consistent lighting.
  4. Extend only to confirmed compatible sections.

Common mistake

Judging only while wet can conceal an altered appearance. Repeated brushing to force an even look can change the original texture.

What a useful result looks like

A useful treatment preserves the pattern and records any exclusions. Retain the trial and care instructions so future cleaners do not use an unverified all-purpose process.
