Elevator Stainless Steel Handover: Account for Protective Films and Final Building Cleaning

Coordinate protective-film removal, final building cleaning and coating acceptance when handing over stainless elevator surfaces.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

Elevator stainless steel may pass through fabrication, transport, installation and final building cleaning before the client sees it. A coating applied at the wrong point in that sequence can be contaminated or subjected to an unapproved cleaner before handover.

Map the handover sequence

Identify who removes protective film, completes installation corrections, performs the final clean and applies any coating. Record which work remains nearby. Dust and construction residue can return after an apparently complete surface treatment.

Accept the underlying finish

Inspect the stainless after approved film removal and cleaning. Record adhesive traces, scratches, grain direction and any accepted repair. Do not use coating to conceal an unresolved fabrication or installation issue.

Give the cleaning team a usable record

Name the approved products and methods for each finish, including mirror inserts and brushed panels. Mark controls, displays and other components outside the coating scope. If a final building clean occurs after coating, confirm compatibility beforehand and inspect afterward. The handover photograph should represent the condition delivered to the client, not merely the condition before another contractor entered the lift.

Ask NANOLAB about your surface and intended use. For application and care, use the current instructions for the exact product.
