Elevator panels often combine frequent touching with strong lighting that reveals streaks. A coating trial should preserve the finish and fit the building’s cleaning process.

Identify panel variations

Record brushed, polished, patterned and decorative sections separately. Check factory treatments and the elevator manufacturer’s care restrictions. Keep controls, labels, safety information and functional mechanisms outside the decorative-panel scope unless specifically approved.

Trial under real conditions

Confirm the coating and preparation, then test a discreet representative area. Inspect after curing under the elevator’s actual lighting. Evaluate routine cleaning and hand-mark removal over normal use, rather than judging only a freshly prepared panel.

Standardise building care

Give the cleaning team one approved method and labelled tools. Keep maintenance records accessible to the building manager and service contractor. If a panel is repaired or replaced, assess it separately before extending the original coating process. Different factory finishes may look similar while requiring different preparation and cleaning.
