Compressed air can remove water from accessible detailing areas, but the air supply itself must be suitable for the task. A blow gun connected to a workshop line should not be assumed clean because the nozzle looks tidy. Review the compressor, treatment equipment, hose and tool as one system.
Use equipment and operating settings approved for the intended application. Follow the compressor and blow-gun instructions, including protective equipment and restrictions on directing air. Do not aim compressed air at people or use it as a general body-cleaning tool.
Ask whether the line serves lubricated tools or has a history of moisture or oil carryover. Check specified filters, separators and maintenance schedules with the equipment supplier. A towel over the nozzle is not a substitute for a properly maintained system.
Evaluate output on a suitable clean test surface away from the vehicle if the equipment instructions permit it. Visible moisture or oily deposits are reasons to stop and address the supply. Such a check can reveal an obvious problem but does not certify air purity or replace equipment maintenance.
Keep the nozzle and hose from touching prepared paint. Avoid blowing debris from a dirty bench, floor or adjacent vehicle onto a cleaned panel. Use the vehicle and coating instructions to decide where air drying is appropriate, especially near sensors, seals and recently applied products.
Inspect the panel after drying and before coating. If contamination appears, resolve it through the approved preparation process rather than coating over it. Document air-system maintenance and recurring symptoms so the next operator does not unknowingly repeat the same contamination route.
