A full polishing range.
From cutting and one-step correction to final finishing.
A thick compound is not automatically a strong cutter, and a fluid polish is not automatically gentle.

A thick compound is not automatically a strong cutter, and a fluid polish is not automatically gentle. Viscosity describes flow behaviour under specified conditions. Cutting performance depends on the complete formulation and how it is used with a pad, machine and paint surface.
Observe how the product dispenses, spreads and stays on the pad. Those characteristics affect practical handling and may influence the amount delivered, but they do not establish abrasive particle characteristics or a universal cut rating.
Do not infer solids content, abrasive concentration or quality from bottle thickness alone. Different ingredients and formulation choices can change flow without producing a proportional change in correction. A liquid that looks thin can still be unsuitable for a delicate finish.
For a workshop evaluation, prepare and store the products according to their instructions and compare them at suitable, recorded conditions. Use consistent dispensing and supported pad-machine combinations. If the products require different methods, report those methods rather than forcing an artificial identical recipe.
Assess the cleaned result, required refinement, pad maintenance and residue removal. Record viscosity-related handling separately: easy dispensing, uneven dosing, leakage or difficulty distributing the product. These are useful observations, but they are not direct measurements of cut.
If a familiar compound becomes unusually thick, watery or inconsistent, check storage history and the manufacturer’s preparation instructions. Do not assume the change is harmless, and do not restore the appearance by adding water or solvent without explicit approval from the supplier.
Keep the batch identification and contact the manufacturer if the product does not return to its expected state through the instructed preparation. A visibly different bottle should not become an uncontrolled experiment on customer paint.
The useful selection question is how reliably the product reaches the required finish under its intended method. Flow behaviour belongs in that evaluation, but it should remain one measured or observed attribute rather than a shortcut for judging cutting power.
