Practical approach
Plan the order of work deliberately, provide appropriate familiarization and record operator experience. Use a suitable balanced or randomized design where practical.
Faster application of the second candidate may partly reflect practice gained on the first.
Decision limits
Do not label the observed time difference a formulation advantage until the trial design supports that interpretation.
