Record the concern, inspection findings and agreed work during a coating return visit so the customer knows what was checked and changed.
Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

A return visit may involve routine maintenance, a question about appearance or corrective work. Treating every return as a failure can confuse the record, while treating every concern as ordinary wear can miss a real issue. The handover should explain the observation, the assessment and the work actually completed.
Ask the customer to identify the affected area and describe when the issue appears. Photograph it under useful lighting before washing or applying another product. Record recent maintenance and exposures that may affect the assessment.
Use the complaint diagnostic questions to gather the history. If the workshop cannot reproduce the concern, record that limitation rather than dismissing the customer’s account.
Write down what is visible, what checks were performed and what remains uncertain. For example, a mark that remains after washing is an observation; identifying its cause may require further assessment. Avoid assigning blame from a photograph or a single water test.
The coating haze diagnosis guide illustrates why similar appearances may need different responses. Obtain agreement before work expands beyond the original return-visit scope.
Record the surfaces treated, products used and any correction or reapplication. If only one panel was addressed, do not describe the entire coating system as renewed. Preserve the original installation record and connect the return visit to it.
Where the work qualifies as rework, add it to the coating rework log with the confirmed cause or an explicit note that the cause is unresolved. This helps separate recurring process issues from unrelated maintenance visits.
Show the customer the treated area and explain any remaining limitation. Supply care instructions relevant to the work performed, including any new cure restrictions where required by the product. Agree how and when to report a recurrence.
A short written record should be understandable without the installer present. It should say what changed and what the customer should do next, while avoiding unsupported promises that the same concern can never return.
