Coating Liquid Specifications: Separate Appearance from Acceptance Tests

Visual appearance is one observation within a specification. It should not replace other agreed checks or be judged against an informal memory.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

Practical approach

Define the viewing conditions and approved appearance reference where needed. Keep identity and functional tests separate.

A clear liquid can still have the wrong identity, while a documented appearance variation may not imply failure.

Decision limits

Do not approve or reject a batch solely because it looks familiar or unfamiliar.
