Coating Cleaning-Time Savings: Report Minutes as Well as Percentages

A percentage saving is easier to assess when the original and final times are also shown. The same percentage can represent very different practical benefits across cleaning tasks.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

The key distinction

Define the accepted cleaning endpoint and keep work scope comparable. Then report the absolute time difference alongside the relative change, with labour and other resources identified separately.

Practical checks

  1. Record comparable baseline and treated times.
  2. Calculate the difference and percentage on the stated basis.
  3. Explain the practical consequence for the intended operation.

Example

Arithmetic example: reducing a task from two minutes to one saves one minute and fifty percent. Reducing another from twenty minutes to ten saves ten minutes and the same fifty percent.

Scope and limits

These figures are hypothetical, not NANOLAB trial results. Do not infer savings for a whole property from a narrowly defined test without appropriate representative evidence.
