Practical approach
Record the apparatus, contact arrangement, load, cycles and consumable preparation required by the method. Keep the same endpoint definition across samples.
A fresh abrasive and a worn abrasive may not impose the same challenge even when the cycle count is identical.
Decision limits
Do not translate abrasion cycles directly into years of washing without validated supporting evidence.
