Assess the starting condition
Compare the vessel after compatible cleaning rather than comparing a dirty current side with an old freshly treated photograph. Note neighbouring work, fender arrangements and ordinary access.
A practical working method
- Establish a clean dry baseline.
- Map new exposure and contact zones.
- Maintain the approved cleaning routine.
- Review the same areas through normal use.
Common mistake
A changed residue pattern does not by itself establish coating failure. A shaded sample cannot represent every exposed section.
