How to Request a Useful Ceramic Coating Manufacturing Quote

Build a clear request for quotation covering formula scope, packaging, quantities, documentation and delivery assumptions for coating supply.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

A useful request for quotation lets a ceramic coating supplier price a defined job. “How much for 1,000 bottles?” leaves important questions unanswered: which formula, how much liquid, what packaging and which services? An incomplete request often produces prices that look comparable but cover different work.

Describe the product and its intended use

State whether you need an existing formulation or a development discussion. Identify the intended surface, professional or retail user, desired pack size and sales destination. If a sample has already been approved, reference it clearly. If it has not, mark the product choice as provisional.

Attach your product brief rather than embedding a long chain of messages. A single current brief reduces the risk that a supplier prices an outdated version of the project.

Break the supply request into parts

  • Liquid: formulation reference and nominal fill volume.
  • Primary packaging: bottle, closure, seal and any application insert.
  • Branding: label printing, label application and artwork status.
  • Kit contents: applicator, cloths, instructions and outer box where required.
  • Quantity: units per product, not only a combined range total.
  • Delivery: destination and the point to which the requested quotation should apply.

Ask which one-time costs, sample costs and repeat-order costs are included. Do not assume a quoted minimum applies equally to every formula, bottle or printed component.

Separate firm requirements from options

If you are considering two bottle sizes, request them as two alternatives with the same underlying assumptions. If the artwork is unfinished, state that clearly and ask what the estimate excludes. Too many undefined options make the total price difficult to interpret.

An illustrative request might specify one approved formula, a stated bottle size, an initial quantity, a labelled-bottle option and an unlabelled-bottle option. This provides a meaningful comparison between supply formats without changing the product at the same time.

Review the reply before treating it as an order

Check validity dates, product references, exclusions, payment assumptions and the event that starts the lead-time clock. A production estimate beginning after artwork approval is different from an estimate beginning after an initial enquiry. Resolve missing information in a revised written scope.

Send the completed request through NANOLAB’s private label enquiry. Keep the accepted quotation linked to the approved product and packaging records. This makes repeat ordering easier and prevents a later discussion about what the original price was supposed to include.
