What Solids Percentage Can and Cannot Tell You About a Coating
Read coating solids figures alongside application method, finish compatibility and documented performance rather than using one number alone.

Solids percentage is one formulation characteristic. It is not a complete ranking of ceramic coatings and should not be translated directly into years of durability, scratch resistance or the thickness left on a vehicle.
Read the figure in context
Check how a published figure is defined and whether products are being compared using the same basis. A percentage without a stated method can be difficult to interpret. Ask for clarification when the number is central to a purchasing decision.
NANOLAB publishes different specifications within the MATRIX range. Those products also differ in intended finish and positioning, so selection should consider the complete application rather than simply choosing the largest number.
Separate liquid composition from installed film
The amount applied, spreading method, removal process and curing conditions influence the installed result. A bottle specification is not a direct measurement of the final layer on every panel.
Do not infer a universal coating thickness from solids percentage alone. Use product-specific evidence for any thickness or performance claim and distinguish a test result from a guaranteed outcome on every vehicle.
Choose around the actual job
Evaluate surface compatibility, application control, appearance and aftercare requirements. Use representative samples when selecting a professional or private label system. A product that fits the user’s process may be a better choice than one selected around a single specification.
