Map glossy, matte, painted and wrapped sections on a two-tone vehicle before selecting preparation methods and ceramic coatings.

A two-tone vehicle may combine two paint colours, or it may combine paint with a roof wrap, matte trim or another finish. Colour alone does not identify the surface. A useful ceramic coating plan maps both the material and the required final appearance.
Record the roof, pillars, mirrors, main body panels and boundary lines. Ask whether any part was repainted or wrapped after delivery. Inspect seams and edges, but do not treat a visual guess as confirmation of material or product compatibility.
Glossy and matte areas can require different cleaning and correction decisions. A polish that improves glossy paint may permanently alter a matte appearance. Keep those processes physically organised so pads, towels and residue do not cross the boundary casually.
Select the appropriate coating for each identified finish. NANOLAB MATTE is a starting point for supported matte clear coat, matte PPF and matte vinyl, with the exact process governed by its instructions. Gloss-enhancing products should not be substituted on a matte section without explicit suitability.
Test inconspicuous areas where practical and compare the result after the prescribed curing stage. Assess appearance as well as water behaviour. A product that beads well but changes the intended sheen may be unsuitable for the owner’s objective.
Plan small application sections beside colour or material changes. Use compatible protection for adjacent areas where needed and check that no residue collects along film edges or trim joints. Confirm both sides of each boundary before moving on.
At handover, provide a surface map showing the products used and any different care requirements. This is especially useful after a future roof-wrap replacement or body repair, when one area’s protection may need renewal while the remainder stays in service.
