When a known loss fraction applies to input material, the required input is the target output divided by the usable fraction.

Practical approach
Use an observed, justified yield and keep other allowances separate.
To obtain 10 usable litres at a 95% usable yield, the illustrative input is 10 divided by 0.95, about 10.53 litres.
Decision limits
Simply adding 5% to the output is a different calculation. Do not use an assumed yield as a permanent substitute for measurement.
