A full polishing range.
From cutting and one-step correction to final finishing.
Evaluate coated stainless steel for both fingerprint visibility and effort to remove marks, using controlled handling and viewing conditions.

A surface that shows fingerprints less clearly is not necessarily easier to clean, and a surface that cleans easily may still show marks under certain lighting. Test visibility and removal effort as separate outcomes.
Identify the actual stainless finish and any existing decorative or factory treatment. Confirm coating and cleaner compatibility. Bare brushed stainless, polished stainless and a factory anti-fingerprint finish should not be treated as one interchangeable substrate.
Use a documented, repeatable handling procedure on test samples. Keep contact location, timing and viewing conditions consistent enough for screening. Human fingerprints vary, so describe a manual trial as a practical comparison rather than a precise standardised soil test.
| Outcome | Record |
|---|---|
| Initial visibility | Appearance under fixed lighting and angles |
| Cleaning effort | Approved steps to the accepted dry finish |
| Residual appearance | Smearing or marks after cleaning |
| Repeatability | Results across independent samples or repetitions |
Define what counts as clean before the trial. Record extra passes and cloth changes. Do not compare one sample after a quick wipe with another after a complete inspection and rework sequence.
Sample A makes fingerprints less noticeable under broad light, while sample B removes them with fewer accepted cleaning steps. A retail display may value visibility differently from a frequently cleaned lift panel. The right choice depends on the actual use.
Use the care requirements of both the finish and coating. General stainless cleaning advice does not automatically approve every cleaner on a treated decorative surface.
Report both outcomes and the viewing method. Avoid turning a favourable manual fingerprint demonstration into a universal “fingerprint-proof” claim. The useful result is a documented improvement in a defined appearance or cleaning task.
