Nano-Coated Stainless Steel and Protective Transport Wrap

Protective transport wrap can contact nano-coated stainless steel for longer than expected during delivery, storage and fitting.

Protective transport wrap can contact nano-coated stainless steel for longer than expected during delivery, storage and fitting. Confirm compatibility and timing before packing the finished panels. A coating that has not met its specified cure conditions should not be assumed ready for contact with any protective film or foam.

Test the complete packing arrangement

Identify the coating, stainless finish and proposed wrapping material, including adhesive where present. Check each supplier's requirements for cure, temperature, storage and removal. Use representative coated samples for an approved compatibility trial when the combination is unfamiliar.

Inspect after the planned contact period and removal method. Look for imprinting, adhesive residue, colour change and uneven gloss under consistent lighting. A brief touch test does not reproduce weeks of storage or pressure from stacked panels.

Include corners, spacers and strapping contact points in the packing assessment. The broad face may remain acceptable while a concentrated load or dirty insert damages a local area.

Carry instructions through delivery

Label the package with the required handling and removal information. Tell installers which surfaces are coated and which cleaners are approved for any permitted residue removal. Avoid leaving protective material on indefinitely simply because construction is still underway.

Inspect panels at agreed stages before installation conceals their edges or backs. Record damage and residue before applying another product. If the wrapping system causes a problem, investigate it with the suppliers rather than adding a coating layer to conceal the result. A successful finish depends on preparation, application, packing and installation working together, with responsibility clear at each handover.
