A loose squeegee handle can let a hard frame or fitting strike shower glass during an otherwise gentle drying pass. Inspect the tool before using it on a coated enclosure. A damaged tool should be removed from service rather than held together through the next cleaning session.
Confirm that a squeegee is permitted by the enclosure and coating care instructions. Examine the blade for damage and embedded debris, the frame for exposed hard corners and the handle for movement at its attachment. Test security away from the glass, not against the pane.
If the tool has a manufacturer-approved repair or replacement part, follow that process. Do not wrap a loose fitting in tape and assume it is suitable for use near glass edges. Replace the tool when its condition cannot be restored reliably.
Keep an appropriate alternative drying method available where the care instructions allow it. This avoids the temptation to continue using defective equipment simply because water remains on the pane.
If a hard part has struck the glass, stop and inspect without tapping, pressing or scraping the area. Visible chips, cracks or other damage require qualified assessment through the enclosure supplier's process. Do not apply coating to conceal an impact mark.
Store the replacement tool where it can dry and remain protected from contamination, following its instructions. Avoid a position where it falls onto the glass or floor repeatedly. Include tool condition in the routine household check so a gradually loosening handle is noticed before it becomes a contact hazard during cleaning.
