Coating Demonstration Attendance: Count Engagement Separately from Qualified Demand

Attendance at a demonstration is not the same as qualified purchasing demand. Measure the outcomes that match the event's purpose rather than treating every attendee as a likely order.

The key distinction

An event can support education, product feedback or distributor recruitment. Each purpose needs its own follow-up criteria. Keep those outcomes separate so a popular demonstration does not create an unsupported stock forecast.

Practical checks

  1. Define the event's intended outcome in advance.
  2. Record relevant follow-up requests and their scope.
  3. Track later evaluation and purchasing decisions separately.

Example

Illustrative example: fifty people attend a coating demonstration, but five request a defined professional sample evaluation. Both numbers are useful, yet they represent different levels of engagement.

Scope and limits

Do not invent conversion probabilities from attendance alone. Use observed follow-up and a clear qualification process before turning an event result into a bulk purchasing assumption.
