Coated Stainless Steel Near Chloride Cleaners: Review the Whole Cleaning Routine

A surface coating does not justify ignoring the stainless steel's cleaning restrictions. The metal and coating requirements must both be considered.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

Practical approach

Identify chemicals used nearby, including splash and runoff routes. Follow the relevant supplier instructions and prevent unsuitable exposure.

A cleaner intended for an adjacent surface can still contact a stainless panel through overspray.

Decision limits

Do not claim that a coating makes the metal immune to corrosion or all cleaning chemicals.
