Nano Coating on Self-Cleaning Glass: Check the Existing Function
A factory self-cleaning surface may use a different wetting mechanism from a water-repellent aftermarket coating. Adding another layer can change the intended surface.

Practical approach
Identify the glazing product and obtain the manufacturer's approval before proposing treatment.
Pilkington Activ uses a factory-applied hydrophilic surface; ordinary water beading is not its defining cleaning mechanism.
Decision limits
Do not treat lack of beads as failure or apply a hydrophobic product to correct it without explicit compatibility guidance.
