Colour Checks After Coating: Separate Lighting from Surface Change

A perceived colour difference can depend on the light source and viewing conditions. Repeat the observation before assigning it to the coating.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

Practical approach

Compare the same area and reference under controlled lighting. Record the finish, preparation and observation method, using suitable instruments when the specification requires them.

A panel viewed in warm indoor light and later in daylight may look different without any intervening treatment.

Decision limits

Do not promise colour stability from a single photograph or visual check. Define the relevant acceptance conditions with the customer.
