Coating Packaging Trials: Include the Final Bottle in the Carton

A packing trial using one loose bottle cannot reveal all problems in a full carton. The final bottle may be harder to insert or may load neighbouring packs differently.

Practical approach

Pack the complete intended quantity with the actual dividers and closure method. Check insertion, removal, movement and visible pressure points.

A carton that comfortably holds eleven bottles may require force for the twelfth, indicating a configuration problem rather than slow packing staff.

Decision limits

Do not solve tight packing by omitting protective components without review. Reassess the carton and divider dimensions as one system.
