What to Check When Collecting a Car After PPF Installation
Inspect PPF coverage, edges, finish and aftercare information at collection so observations can be documented and followed up clearly.

PPF collection is the right time to confirm what was installed and how it should be cared for. A clear inspection record helps distinguish a known installation observation from damage or contamination that develops later.
Confirm the agreed coverage
Walk around the clean vehicle with the installer. Compare covered panels with the quotation and note partial-film boundaries, excluded areas and access points. Check that the intended glossy or matte finish has been preserved.
Inspect under suitable lighting without rubbing, picking or pressing at suspicious areas. Photograph concerns and ask the installer to explain which observations require follow-up.
Record settling and care instructions
Fresh film may have appearance changes that the installer expects to review as it settles, but not every bubble or mark should be dismissed. Obtain the expected review interval and a clear contact route for changes that persist or worsen.
Confirm the first-wash guidance, restrictions around edges and any ceramic coating applied over the film. Film and coating instructions should be reconciled rather than choosing the shorter waiting period.
Leave with a usable record
Keep the film details, installation date, coverage map and any coating identity together. Note the agreed inspection or follow-up appointment and the condition documented at collection.
Read moisture and film appearance checks and PPF edge washing. If a NANOLAB coating was installed, retain its product-specific aftercare instructions alongside the film guidance.
