Reduce water spots and unnecessary contact by choosing clean drying tools and checking the places where retained water can escape later.

A hydrophobic panel can still retain droplets, especially on horizontal areas. As water evaporates, dissolved minerals can remain behind. Drying is therefore part of normal care even when water behaviour looks strong.
Rinse detergent thoroughly first. Drying an incompletely rinsed car can spread residue and make the towel appear to be the problem.
Use an appropriate clean microfiber drying towel with light contact. Fold and change faces as needed, and stop if the towel encounters remaining dirt. Clean forced air can help with seams and intricate areas where towel contact is awkward, provided the equipment does not introduce oil or debris.
Keep wheel and lower-area towels separate. Do not drag a heavily loaded towel across every panel just because it can still absorb water.
Check mirror housings, handles, badges and number plates for late drips. Address them with clean tools before the water dries. If streaks persist, assess shampoo concentration, rinsing, towel condition and any drying aid used. A compatible drying aid may be useful where instructed, but it should not be added automatically to disguise recurring residue or poor washing technique.
