From cutting and one-step correction to final finishing.
Use a short handoff check for surface identity, readiness and selected product instructions.

A short independent check before coating application can catch misunderstandings between preparation and installation. The second technician should verify the information needed for the next stage, not simply repeat that the vehicle looks ready. Keep the check specific to the job and product.
Review the surface map, selected product and current instructions. Check that known repair areas, film zones and excluded components are understood. Resolve any mismatch between the booking scope and the inspected vehicle before application begins.
Ask what preparation was completed and how readiness was assessed under the approved procedure. Check unresolved observations and relevant timing information. Do not invent a universal readiness test that overrides product-specific instructions. A second opinion is useful only when both people know what they are checking.
For example, if one panel has uncertain treatment history, the team may release the confirmed areas while referring that panel for further review. Record the limited decision rather than labelling the entire vehicle ready. Identify who checked, what remains open and the next action. The process should be brief enough for routine use but strong enough to stop an assumption from passing silently between technicians. Its value is independent verification of essential facts, not another signature added to an unread form.
Have the first technician state which preparation steps were completed and what remains uncertain. The second checks the surface and record against the selected product's requirements. Confirm product identity, target zones, moisture concerns, residue observations and the accepted correction result.
If either person finds an unresolved issue, mark the affected zone as not released for coating. Do not turn the check into a ceremonial signature after the bottle is already open. The second person is checking readiness, not simply endorsing the first person's confidence. Record any correction made during the review so the final job history explains why the surface was accepted and which conditions were verified before application.
