Ceramic Coating Product Facts: A Field-Level Record

Keep product pages, labels and support answers aligned through one controlled fact register.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

A coating brand can publish conflicting information even when every department is trying to help. The website, label, brochure and support team may each use a different source. A shared product-fact register gives those teams one place to confirm what is approved and current.

Define each fact precisely

Create records for product identity, intended use, available pack formats and links to technical instructions. Attach the source, revision and approval owner to each entry. Keep marketing wording separate from the underlying fact so a new campaign can change the presentation without changing the meaning.

Make uncertainty visible

Use clear states such as confirmed, awaiting confirmation and superseded. Do not fill a gap by copying a similar product's specification. For example, an approved application statement for one finish should not be transferred to another variant merely because both products belong to the same series.

Connect changes to publishing tasks

When a fact changes, identify every asset that uses it: product page, label, insert, reseller sheet or staff reference. Assign updates and verify completion. Retain the earlier source for traceability while directing day-to-day work to the current record. The register should be small enough to maintain and specific enough to prevent guessing. Its value is the consistency it creates across real customer touchpoints, not the number of fields it contains.

Product facts: a field-level record

Create fields for product identity, role, supported surfaces, pack size, instruction link, claim wording, evidence owner and approval date. Give each field its own status when information is incomplete. This is different from a stock-code list: it controls what the business says about the product.

For example, changing a bottle image should not silently change the application instructions. If a reseller asks whether a product suits a new finish, keep that question outside the approved fact record until it is resolved. Let website, packaging and sales materials reference the same approved fields. This reduces the chance that three individually plausible descriptions develop into three conflicting versions of the offer.
