Assess the starting condition

Identify the outer finish and inspect joints and mounting points. Record cleaning products, spills and normal handling. A marine product claim does not establish suitability for every table component.

A practical working method

  1. Confirm approved cosmetic surfaces.
  2. Trial preparation and dry appearance locally.
  3. Exclude unapproved joint, bonding and contact areas.
  4. Inspect after representative cleaning.

Common mistake

Treating the whole table because its base is compatible extends the application. Coating is not a solution to a loose mounting or unstable finish.

What a useful result looks like

A useful handover identifies treated surfaces and exclusions. Preserve equipment and food-contact requirements separately while providing practical care for the confirmed decorative finish.
