Customer-Supplied Aftercare Products: Check the Exact Product at Handover

A customer may already own shampoo, a drying aid or a spray sealant. Reviewing the exact products makes a coating care discussion more useful than approving a broad product category.

Read the actual label

Identify the product name, intended surfaces and stated method of use. Similar bottles within one range may contain different products. Photograph or note the identification with the customer’s agreement so that future advice refers to the same item.

Compare both instruction sets

Review the care guidance for the installed coating and the instructions for the proposed cleaner or maintenance product. Do not treat the word ceramic on a label as evidence that all uses suit the installed system. Ask for technical guidance if the instructions conflict.

Explain effects on observation

A topper or drying aid can change water behaviour and surface feel. Record its use when assessing the underlying coating later. A strong beading demonstration after a maintenance spray is not a clean observation of the original coating alone.

Write a practical care sequence

Agree which products belong in the routine wash and which need a separate evaluation. Keep the sequence simple enough to follow, with the supplied dilution and rinse method. Update the care record when the customer changes products.

Frequently asked question

Can a shop approve every product from a familiar brand?

Approval should refer to the exact product and intended use. A brand name alone does not establish suitability for every surface or coating.
