A full polishing range.
From cutting and one-step correction to final finishing.
A successful polish test on a flat section does not establish a safe process at a sharp crown or body line. Treat the geometry as a separate working condition.

A pad spreads contact across a broad flat surface but can concentrate it at a narrow high point. The backing may also approach the paint differently. Look at the complete pad movement and identify raised lines before starting the machine.
A nearby thickness measurement does not certify the film at the crown. Probe position, curvature and the instrument’s limitations matter. Record areas that cannot be assessed reliably rather than filling the gap with an assumed safe removal allowance.
Protect or exclude vulnerable lines and choose a controlled approach for accessible areas. Keep the test result attached to the geometry on which it was obtained. The final inspection should include a list of deliberately preserved marks, so the customer understands why the finish was not chased uniformly.
No. Contact geometry and paint condition differ, and the flat-area result does not establish the edge’s tolerance.
