Understand why conventional gloss-enhancing paint correction is unsuitable for preserving matte or satin appearance and how to seek compatible care guidance.
Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

Conventional paint polishing is intended to change the surface and often increase gloss. That conflicts with preserving the intended appearance of matte or satin paint. Do not treat a visible mark on a matte finish as an ordinary swirl-removal job.
A matte appearance may come from a paint system, wrap or paint protection film. Each has its own care instructions and repair options.
Check the actual material before selecting any cleaner, protection or abrasive. Similar sheen does not establish equivalent compatibility.
A mark may be removable residue, staining or a physical change to the finish. Use only a compatible cleaning process and inspect without aggressive rubbing.
Do not apply fine polish merely because it sounds gentle. A local change in sheen can remain conspicuous even if the original mark becomes less visible.
The aim of matte care is consistency with the intended finish. A shinier corrected spot can be a worse visual outcome than the original minor mark.
If compatible cleaning does not resolve the issue, consult the paint or film supplier about repair. Do not escalate through stronger compounds using the same logic as glossy clear coat.
Use products specifically appropriate to the material and intended sheen. A coating suitable for glossy paint is not automatically appropriate for matte paint or film.
For NANOLAB protection, verify the current product page and technical instructions for the exact finish. Do not infer suitability simply because another product in the same family supports matte surfaces.
Record what was cleaned and any unresolved damage. A clear boundary between care and abrasive correction prevents an attempt to improve appearance from permanently changing the surface character the owner chose.
