Ceramic Coating Care Near Roadworks

Distinguish loose dust from tar-like or bonded contamination after roadworks exposure before cleaning ceramic-coated paint.

Roadworks can expose a car to dust, splashes and mixed contamination. The correct response depends on what reached the vehicle. Ceramic coating does not turn an unidentified construction deposit into ordinary wash dirt.

Record the exposure

Note where the vehicle travelled or parked and which panels were affected. Photograph unusual material before attempting removal. If the deposit may be cementitious, adhesive or another unknown substance, obtain specialist advice rather than applying a generic acid or solvent.

Avoid dry wiping dusty paint. Remove loose material through a suitable pre-rinse and controlled wash, keeping dirty lower-area tools away from upper panels. Check glass and essential visibility using the vehicle’s recommended methods.

Diagnose the remaining marks

After washing and drying, distinguish remaining specks, sticky material and etched-looking areas. A cleaner chosen for tar is not automatically suitable for another roadworks residue. Confirm compatibility with paint, PPF and adjacent trim before testing a small area.

NANOLAB IRON is relevant when iron contamination is identified and the surface is supported. It is not a universal roadworks cleaner. Do not select it solely because a purple-reaction product seems convenient.

Decide on local follow-up

If the deposit comes away through an approved process, inspect the revealed finish. If marks remain, separate surface cleaning from paint correction and coating renewal. Record any local treatment that changes the protection history.

For repeated exposure near a home or workplace, shorten condition-check intervals and consider a different parking position where possible. The practical objective is to avoid letting an unidentified deposit accumulate while preserving enough information for a compatible, proportionate response.
