Privacy Films on Shower Glass: Confirm the Exposed Surface

A privacy effect may come from the glass itself, an applied film or another decorative finish. That distinction matters when choosing a coating and preparation method.

Identify the actual treatment

Check the enclosure documents or ask the installer which face carries the privacy treatment. Do not assume that a frosted appearance means the exposed surface is bare glass. Record any restrictions on cleaners, edges and application tools.

Confirm compatibility separately

Ask the coating supplier about the identified material and proposed preparation. Approval for clear glass does not automatically cover a film or printed finish. Avoid solvents or abrasive methods intended to remove residue from bare glass when the actual surface is uncertain.

Keep the scope explicit

If only the untreated glass face is suitable, mark that clearly in the proposal and handover. Inspect any approved test for clarity, appearance and edge effects after curing. Continue the decorative-treatment manufacturer’s care instructions and keep them with the coating record. Future cleaning should not rely on the assumption that both faces are identical.
