Keep the sensor in a representative location according to its instructions. A device near a wet floor, direct airflow or a warm wall may observe conditions different from the working panel. Record its position instead of comparing unlabeled numbers from several rooms.
Compare devices under the same suitable conditions, allowing for their specified response behaviour. Review battery status, contamination and the manufacturer’s verification method. Do not adjust the readings merely to match the most reassuring display.
Use trustworthy observations together with the label and technical guidance for the exact coating. If the sensor is unreliable, replace or service it through the approved route. Do not compensate for uncertainty by inventing a shorter or longer buff-off window.
An average does not resolve why they disagree. Verify placement and instrument behaviour before using the result.
