Stainless Sinks: Confirm the Exact Coating Application

A sink has different exposure from a decorative stainless panel. Water, cleaning products, abrasion and possible food contact all belong in the suitability discussion.

Define the area and use

Specify whether the enquiry concerns the bowl, drainer, rim or a nearby exterior panel. Describe normal cleaning, hot-water exposure and the items handled there. Do not extend approval for a stainless appliance door to the sink interior.

Request application-specific confirmation

Ask the supplier whether the exact formulation is suitable and what conditions apply, including food contact where relevant. Keep the sink manufacturer’s care instructions in the decision. If the required documentation or compatibility cannot be confirmed, leave the area outside the coating scope.

Preserve the working routine

A coating should not be used to justify abandoning necessary hygiene or using incompatible cleaners. It also does not make the sink immune to impact or abrasion from normal objects. If treatment is approved, document the boundaries, preparation and aftercare. Inspect recurring marks after the agreed cleaning method before considering any further product.
