Polishing Stainless Steel After Nano Coating

Polishing can affect an existing nano coating and the finish beneath it. Treat it as a planned correction step, not a default way to restore shine after every cleaning session.

Establish what needs correction

Clean with the approved method and inspect the surface dry. Record the mark, finish type and any factory treatment. Ask whether further compatible cleaning is appropriate before considering abrasion or a product that leaves a polishing film.

Agree the repair scope

If specialist polishing is needed, determine the area involved and the finish that can reasonably be achieved. Confirm whether local coating removal or renewal is part of the process. Keep adjacent materials protected and avoid extending a correction method to unrelated panels.

Update the care record

Record the affected area, products and service date. Confirm the new curing and cleaning instructions if coating is reapplied. Future inspections should not assume that a polished section has the same treatment age or condition as untouched surfaces. Keep the accepted dry photographs for comparison.
