Shower Glass Coating after a Line Stop: A Restart Checklist

A line interruption leaves more than an idle workstation. Some panels may be prepared but uncoated, others partly treated, and others waiting for inspection. A restart checklist should recover those states before the next order enters the station.

Account for every panel

Record where each pane stopped and the time of its last completed step. Separate panels that can continue under the approved instructions from those requiring review. Do not apply a generic restart rule to all stages; a prepared surface exposed to dust raises a different question from coating left unlevelled.

Check the station before the product

Inspect clean consumables, handling contacts and the work surface. Confirm bottle closure and product condition according to the storage instructions. Record changes in temperature, humidity or airflow that occurred during the interruption. Do not restore a partially used applicator to service simply because it looks unchanged.

Use a controlled restart piece

Process a representative test piece or agreed first panel and inspect it before releasing a larger sequence. Check coverage, levelling and appearance using the normal acceptance method. This verifies the restarted workflow without turning the whole order into an experiment.

For example, an interruption caused by nearby dusty work may require reassessing prepared panels even when the coating bottles remained closed. The cause of the stop helps determine the restart checks.

Record exceptions instead of improvising

If the approved instructions do not cover a partially treated panel, obtain product-specific guidance. Do not extend flash time, add another layer or use a stronger cleaner simply to recover the schedule.

Close the interruption record with panel disposition, consumable changes and the accepted restart sample. That short record prevents the next shift from inheriting an unexplained mixture of completed and uncertain work.
