Disinfectants and Nano-Coated Shower Glass

If a bathroom routine requires a disinfectant, check that routine before selecting a coating. Surface protection should not be assumed to replace hygiene procedures or to tolerate every disinfecting product.

Provide the exact product details

Tell the coating supplier which disinfectant is used and include the manufacturer’s dilution and contact-time instructions. Consider the glass, coating, seals and adjacent hardware together. The word “bathroom” on a cleaner does not confirm compatibility with all those materials.

Keep roles separate

A nano coating is not automatically an antimicrobial treatment. Continue the required cleaning and hygiene process using approved products and methods. Do not mix chemicals or increase strength in an attempt to make a surface both cleaner and more water-repellent.

Record appearance changes

If haze, streaking or another visible change follows the routine, photograph the dry surface and record the sequence. Ask whether further cleaning or assessment is needed before adding a new coating layer. In shared or commercial bathrooms, give all cleaning staff the same written method so exposure remains consistent and traceable.
