Plastic Coating on a Gloss and Matte Interior Combination

Gloss and matte interior plastics need separate visual acceptance. A product suitable for one finish may be unsuitable for another.

Gloss and matte interior plastics need separate visual acceptance. A product suitable for one finish may be unsuitable for another.

Assess the starting condition

Map the materials, outer finishes and existing treatments. Inspect screens and decorative films separately. Keep the intended matte appearance visible in the scope.

A practical working method

  1. Test approved preparation on each relevant finish.
  2. Trial protection in suitable inconspicuous areas.
  3. Inspect dry gloss, colour and texture.
  4. Record exclusions and care requirements.

Common mistake

Treating every dark plastic with one method can change the intended design. A glossy test cannot verify a matte component’s appearance.

What a useful result looks like

The useful result preserves the vehicle’s finish arrangement. Retain the tests and material map so later maintenance does not replace careful selection with an unverified universal dressing.
