A boat show creates a fixed presentation date, but coating preparation and curing still need the conditions specified by the product. Plan backward from transport, setup and visitor access rather than scheduling application immediately before the doors open. The display environment introduces handling and contamination after the finish is completed.
List the stages after coating: yard movement, transport, lifting where applicable, cover fitting, stand setup and final cleaning. Identify which stages touch treated surfaces or expose them to water and dust. Coordinate safe handling with the relevant service providers.
Reserve time for surface preparation, application, cure and inspection within the product's permitted conditions. Do not replace those requirements with a generic overnight assumption. If the schedule cannot provide the necessary conditions, adjust the scope or timing with the supplier.
Record the boat's accepted appearance before transport. Photograph existing defects and treated boundaries so later setup marks can be distinguished from the original condition.
Choose products approved for the coating and the display's materials. Keep clean finishing cloths separate from tools used on stands, flooring and dirty fittings. Provide staff with a simple routine for fingerprints and ordinary dust, including when to stop and ask for help.
Avoid adding unfamiliar gloss sprays for a last-minute visual effect. They can change appearance and complicate assessment of the original coating. Inspect after setup under the show lighting and document any necessary approved correction. A well-presented boat depends on the full handling sequence, not only the application completed in the workshop several days earlier.
